Wow, another conspiracy that's just a rip off of an anime plot. I wonder if there's a weeb infiltrated in conspiracy groups just to make this kind of things.

There are conspiracy theories about the continents we know being just a small part of an enormous (usually flat) earth, in a lake surrounded by an ice wall, almost like HxH's dark continent.

I've also seen people say CERN has a time machine that they use to alter history at will (like Steins;Gate)

And COVID conspiracies were almost the same as the plot of 20th Century Boys

I didn't know it was that old. Maybe it's the other way around, and there are people in Japan who read conspiracy theories as inspiration for their manga/anime plots (like Urasawa, who obviously did that for Billy Bat)
